When the Patriots signed slot receiver Danny Amendola to replace Pro Bowler Wes Welker, it seemed as though Amendola would be one of the best receivers in the league.
Instead though, New England has made Julian Edelman into the new Wes Welker.
After snagging 54 balls for 633 yards last season, he has caught just four this season for only 23 yards.
It is almost as if he has become a non-factor as of late and his only job is to draw coverage so that other receivers can make catches.
He had a few catches that were called back as a result of penalties so maybe it is just bad luck. To make matters worse, he almost sustained a concussion in last week's game which would have resulted in even less playing time.
